The most beautiful place I’ve ever been

Pangong Lake in the Ladakh Mountains, India

This lake was not originally on our itinerary. It is famous for being the backdrop of a scene in the well-known Indian movie, “The Three Idiots.”  My friend had watched the movie and put visiting this place onto his bucket list.  So we paid extra and drove 5 hours, literally crossing mountains, to get here on our last day in Ladakh.

And it was worth every bit of it. I am positive I am not doing it anywhere near the level of justice it deserves.

I’m not sure how many moments I’ve had of involuntary jaw-dropped “wow’s” in my life.  The goal is to have as many as possible, as often as possible.  But driving up to this lake was definitely one of them.
