The Taj Mahal

Agra, India

Imagine, to be loved like this :) –

The Taj Mahal is a tomb built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his third wife. It took 22 years, hundreds of slabs of white marble transported from hundreds of miles away, semi-precious and precious stones from all over Asia, and thousands of artisans to complete. The white marble–according to artisans we met later on–is translucent, meaning that if a candle were lit inside the Taj Mahal, you would see the building glow from the outside.
